Nissan has just released this solitary teaser photo of the new Nissan Juke – the production name for the concept car formerly known as Qazana. It's our first official look at the Juke, which we had scooped over Christmas. It'll be Nissan's third crossover in Europe, slotting into the line-up beneath the Qashqai and Murano.
Early next decade, BMW of North America plans to sell an electric "megacity car" as a subbrand of BMW, similar to the brand's M high-performance cars. But further details are skimpy. BMW already is preparing for that launch.
Toyota Motor Corp. plans to introduce 11 new or redesigned hybrid vehicles by 2012, but the carmaker is hardly neglecting the humble internal combustion engine. Takeshi Uchiyamada, executive vice president in charge of r&d, also wants to increase the fleet's fuel efficiency by putting turbochargers and direct fuel injection in smaller vehicles.
